What Projector should I use?

There are three things you're going to want to focus on when navigating though the tons of options available for you. Resolution, Contrast and Lumens (brightness). You will need to focus on having a projector with at least 10k:1 contrast ratio; deep black colors are our focus when projecting monograms. Lumens... this is where you can, if need be, negotiate your needs. If you plan on shooting from further distances then 5k+ lumens may be your best bet. If you are in smaller rooms dropping to 3500 lumens in OK. The biggest factor you should take in consideration is the resolution of your projector. Having a projector shooting 1080 native is a must if you are shooting very vivid images or videos and shooting from greater then the 30' rated by most projectors.

The 515 offers everything you need, including both vertical and horizontal keystone correction and 4 corner correction. The only drawback is not having a USB based media player built in, but that is easily corrected below.

Need a Digital Media Player?

Whats a digital media player? It is a way to playback pre made media without having to tether to a computer/laptop. Most projectors do not allow for USB based video playback. Some allow for USB based picture/slideshow playback but for those that do not a small portable and easy to use media player is very beneficial. The Micca MPlay allows for USB based media playback and using your smartphones Smart View app you're also able to attach a phone as your content source to your projector. There are many options available to you including Firesticks, Google Chromecast, AppleTV, mini PCs and PC Sticks but Ive found the MPlay to be the best value in all situations

When you start projecting more and more the one thing you value more than anything else is time; specifically setup time. The less time you have to dedicate to taping cables down the more time you have to be creative with your mapping and design work. As a mobile company you typically don't have the ability to setup days beforehand and some locations might not be the safest to leave you're expensive equipment laying around. This is one of those fun options when you have a projector. You should be thinking of using the equipment listed in multiple ways; allowing you to return your investment as quickly as possible. The Elite Screen Yardmaster offers an easy and quick solution. The folding frame is amazing. You'll need to get creative when attaching the clips because the screen is tight until you use it a few times.

What do you need to create Monograms?

We love using Adobe After Effects and PhotoShop for our monogram and mapping content but it is not necessary to use it. If you purchase our monogram pack you will need both programs to edit the templates but remember... whatever you're comfortable using when editing media from final cut to premier to microsoft paint and i-movie. As long as your design mirrors what your couple is looking for then you're good to go!

What are the Best Monogram Templates & Visuals Sources Available?

There is basically an endless supply of royalty free content on the internet. Sites like VideoBlocks.com offer yearly subscriptions and a ton of content options but there is a lack of content in our space. This is the whole reason we created our Monogram Pack.
